What type of pictures should I upload?
We recommend at least 10 to 15 pictures with very good photo quality, where your face is clearly visible, with different backgrounds, scenes, and clothing (maximum total of 40 MB). Also, a mix of large images (8-10 MB each) and smaller images (less than 3 MB each) usually leads to realistic headshots.
What photo formats are accepted?
We accept JPG and PNG. We do not accept AVIF, GIF and all video formats!
How long does it take until I get back my headshots?
Currently, it takes about 90 minutes (depending on current demand) to generate your headshots.
What exactly happens with my uploaded pictures?
Good question! We use your images to train an AI model, which is adjusted to your personal characteristics, and then delete your photos immediately. This process takes a few hours.
Who created FormalFrame?
Behind FormalFrame are two former Swiss students of HSG St. Gallen and ETH Zurich. Tobias and Cyril both know the challenges for professional pictures based on many years of professional experience in the IT industry and banking.
How much do the headshots actually look like me?
When developing the software, we had an important measure: can your friend, colleague, or parents even distinguish the headshots from real ones. In short, was it detected that these were created by AI. And surprisingly, with the correct photos, the answer was very often: No, because the images resemble you very much. However, it is important to mention that the images will look more like you if you upload very high quality pictures meeting our requirements.
Why are you generating 60+ headshots?
Our goal is to generate at least one very good headshot for you that you can use immediately for LinkedIn, Microsoft Teams, or intranet, similar to a professional photographer. And since not everything works out in one attempt, we generate a variety of images from which you can choose your favorite.
What do you do with my pictures after I get back my headshots?
Security and privacy are our priority #1! We use your uploaded images for processing only, and all images are DELETED within 24 hours after your upload.
Can I upload pictures of children or people under the age of 18?
No, because this is against our terms and conditions. If you upload such images, you violate our provisions and possibly even the law, and we would be obliged to report such cases. In short, just upload your own images that you have the right to use and do not upload images of persons under the age of 18.
Is your payment provider secure?
Yes, because with Stripe we use a regulated and established provider with the highest security standards. Furthermore, we do not store any information about your payment method.
What types of payments are accepted?
We accept common payment methods such as Apple Pay, Mastercard, VISA, America Express, and many more. Currently, we do not accept cryptocurrencies or PayPal, but we are already working on enabling them soon.
Is there a refund possibility?
After uploading your pictures, we initiate the creation of your images by AI, which incurs high costs due to the computing power required. Therefore, we cannot grant you a direct refund. Nevertheless, customer satisfaction is our top priority, and if needed, we would re-generate your images again with optimized selection. You can contact us regarding this matter by replying to our email with the subject line: ‘GENERATE NEW’.
